Today marks two years since I took the leap of faith, boarded a plane, and moved to Germany. Reflecting on this journey fills me with gratitude and pride. Pursuing my art career abroad was a dream over a decade in the making, and it feels surreal to see it manifest in such a powerful way.
I had never visited Germany before and had only ever lived in Arizona. But if there’s one thing I’ll always do, it’s bet on myself. Two years later, this bet has paid off in ways I couldn’t have imagined.
From my first solo exhibition in Berlin to expanding my artistic reach across Germany and beyond, the past two years have been transformative. This anniversary feels even sweeter as I share an exciting milestone—a two-page spread in PHOENIX Magazine!

PHOENIX Magazine Feature: "Exit Interviews"
I’m thrilled to appear in the latest edition of PHOENIX Magazine, which features a story titled "Exit Interviews." Originally aired on NPR, this story focuses on Phoenicians who left Arizona to pursue their careers elsewhere.
You’ll find my feature on page 142, where I share why I made the bold decision to leave Phoenix for Berlin, my experiences navigating a new country, and whether I see myself returning to Arizona.

I’m so grateful to PHOENIX Magazine for highlighting my journey and allowing me to celebrate my 2-year anniversary in Germany in such a meaningful way.
The First Big Berlin Magazine Shoot
This PHOENIX Magazine spread also marks my first major magazine shoot in Berlin. The experience was nothing short of incredible. I had the privilege of collaborating with my dear friend, A’ja Dotson, a talented photographer whose artistry brought my vision to life.
A’ja, originally from Seattle/Oakland, has lived and worked in Berlin for over four years. She has an unmatched ability to capture powerful, authentic moments, and working with her on this shoot was a dream come true.
The images we created for the feature represent not just my journey but also the power of community and collaboration.
Be sure to follow and support A’ja’s work—her visionary talent is inspiring! You can check out her portfolio here.
Two Years in Germany: Lessons and Growth
Looking back, the past two years have been a whirlwind of growth, challenges, and triumphs. Moving to Germany meant stepping out of my comfort zone and taking on a new world.
From language barriers to cultural adjustments, every challenge has been an opportunity to grow—not just as an artist but as a person.
In Berlin, I’ve been able to connect with a global audience, showcase my work to new collectors, and immerse myself in a creative community unlike any other. The city’s vibrant energy and rich history have fueled my creativity, allowing me to create art that’s deeply personal yet resonates with a global audience.
Gratitude and What’s Next
As I celebrate this milestone, I’m filled with gratitude for everyone who has supported me along the way. Whether you’ve followed my journey on social media, collected my work, or shared my story—thank you.
What’s next? I’m continuing to grow my art career here in Germany while expanding my reach internationally.
For now, I’ll keep pouring my heart into my work, telling the stories that matter, and betting on myself—because that’s how dreams turn into reality.
